Otick is a member of the AAGH Crew along side the likes of Sickboy (POW). We asked Otick to write us a small history about his career in art. This is what he gave us. When my childless parents learned that they could not have children, it caused great distress. And so to ease my mothers pain, my father found a piece of root in the backyard he hacked, chopped and varnished it into the shape of a child. However my mother took the root as her baby and started to pretend that it was real. when the root took life they seemed to have gained a child; but my appetite was much greater than that of a normal child..... So from as early as i can remember i have had an uncontrollable desire to demolish anything and everything with style. As a young child i would scratch, carve and paint what i later found out i referred to as "my marks" on every surface i encountered. My parents could not control me and as i got older "my marks" got bigger. As i travelled from place to place i left behind a trail of stains that remain like ghosts haunting the wall spaces i decided to infect with "my mark" I have more recently been infiltrating and infesting the walls of the Baltic and Artworks galleries and now have spread my plague through the veins of the Guerrilla art press. Otick.... This is a print of a (vintage) Tretchikoff print, customized by Otick . Signed and numbered in hand by the artist. Blind stamped with the 'Guerilla Art Press' logo on bottom right of print. Materials used: giclee print Size: 329mm x 483mm approx Edition: Limited Edition of 50
