TOAD Toad is one of an emerging breed of contempory image-makers… His work uses an original and often complex mix of visuals, styles and techniques to create pieces that are as conceptually rich as they are visually beautiful. The dark humour and graphic narrative of his work draws inspiration from comic books, B movies, current affairs, social and emotion states, our pre apocalyptic naivety, escapism, surrealism, change, revolution, anarchism, the human condition…etc etc! He loves the concept and the visuals of graphic novels - “this loose narrative style incorporated into my work may well tell a different story to each viewer, hopefully making it a personal and exciting experience” Born and raised in the North East of England, he studied art and design at Newcastle College, and later graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 2005 with a first class honours in Graphical Communication. He has been surviving on his creative skills ever since, working between Newcastle, Sheffield and London. This is one incredibly busy artist who you can expect to see a lot more from in the near future!
